CLC Updates
Upcoming Schematic Design Meetings for Hatton/Seiberling
We're rolling up our sleeves in a neighborhood near you! Join us for the following schematic design phase meetings: Wednesday, August 4, at 1 p.m. at Seiberling; and Thursday, August 5, at 3 p.m. in the Hatton LRC. Seiberling is located at 400 Brittain Road. Hatton is located at 1933 Baker Ave. For more information, contact Gary Reyna at 330.761.2967.

Building Program Update
As of May 2010, 19 new CLCs have been built; six more are in construction; and four are in the design stage. The district now has 2,290,000 sq. ft. of new or renovated space for a student capacity of 14,721. The cost of the project to date is $253 million. More than 130 professional services and prime contractor companies (three times that amount if subcontractors are counted) have been involved in this $800 million project. The project build-out is projected for 2015-16.

Segment 3 Schools Approved
The Akron Board of Education approved the plan for buildings to be included in Segment 3 construction. See the Facilities Master Plan by segment or by cluster.

New CLCs Open in 2006-08
Resnik CLC opened in December 2006. Two new community learning centers opened in the fall of 2007: Helen E. Arnold, located at 450 V. Odom Blvd., and David Hill, located at 1060 E. Archwood Ave. Voris, located at 1885 Glenmount Ave., opened in January 2007. Jennings (227 E. Tallmadge Ave.), Betty Jane (444 Darrow Road) and Mason (700 E. Exchange St.) opened early in 2008.

2008-09 CLC Dedications
Forest Hill was dedicated at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26; Robinson at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 4; and Sam Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18.
Glover was dedicated on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 5 p.m.

2009-10 CLC Dedications
For the 2009-10 school year, six new CLCs are open: Innes was dedicated at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19; Ritzman at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 21; Crouse at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26; Rimer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10; Findley on Wednesday, December 16, at 5:30 p.m.; and Barber on Wednesday, January 27, at 5 p.m.

2010-11 CLC Dedications
For the 2010-11 school year, four new CLCs are open: Portage Path will be dedicated at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 30; STEM at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 2; Leggett at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 23; and East on Thursday, September 30, at 5:30 p.m
