Barber
Community Learning Center (formerly Barber Elementary School) COMPLETE A new school was built on the current site. There was no
room to build the new school while the existing school stood, so wasl demolished. The Central Learning Center at 400 W. Market St. housed
the students until the new school was built. The dedication ceremony took place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Students began attending school in the new building on Monday, January 4, 2010.
East Community Learning Center (formerly East High School and Goodyear Middle School) COMPLETE East was renovated and was converted into a middle (East CLC 7-8 Campus)
and high (East CLC 9-12 Campus) school that will house students in grades 7-12.
East students relocated to the old Central-Hower High School during
renovations. Goodyear students stayed in their current building
until the new school was completed. Dedication for the East CLC 9-12 Campus was held on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. High school students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Dedication for the East CLC 7-8 Campus will be held on Thursday, September 22, at 5:30 p.m.
Findley
Community Learning Center (formerly Findley Academy) COMPLETE A new school was constructed
on the existing site. Students relocated to Jennings Middle
School until the new school was built. The dedication ceremony took place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Students began attending school in the new building on Monday, November 30, 2009.
Innes
Community Learning Center (formerly Innes Middle School) COMPLETE Innes was renovated, and seventh- and eighth-graders
relocated to Margaret Park Elementary School. Sixth-grade students relocated to Heminger Elementary School until renovations were complete. The dedication ceremony took place on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.
Leggett
Community Learning Center COMPLETE (formerly Leggett Elementary School) Students
will relocate to the old Mason Elementary School until the new
school is constructed. The dedication took place on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.
National Inventor's Hall of Fame School — Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Learning (new school) COMPLETE This school is housed inside
the National Inventors Hall of Fame and has a strict focus on
math and science. A Community Learning Center in every sense of
the word, it utilizes professionals from Akron Public
Schools and The University of Akron, along with visiting
dignitaries, to reinforce lesson plans. The dedication took place on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.
Portage Path
Community Learning Center (formerly Portage Path Elementary School) COMPLETE Portage Path was renovated, and students relocated to
the Central Learning Center at 400 W. Market St. until renovations were complete. The dedication took place on Monday, August 30, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.
Rimer
Community Learning Center (formerly Rimer Elementary School) COMPLETE A new school was built on the current site. There was not
enough room to build a new school on the site with the existing
school standing, so it will be demolished. Students relocated to
the old Voris Elementary School while the new school was built. The dedication ceremony took on Thursday, September 10, 2009. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, August 26, 2009.
