Helen E. Arnold
Community Learning Center COMPLETE This is a new, 450-student elementary school serving students
located in the Wooster-Lane community and who are currently
being bused throughout the district. This new, modern community
learning center is a collaboration with the Urban League. The dedication ceremony took place on Friday, October 19, 2007, at 1 p.m. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, August 29, 2007.
Betty Jane
Community Learning Center COMPLETE A new school was constructed on the existing site. The
old Betty Jane school building housed students until the new school was
constructed. The old Betty Jane will serve as swing space for
other Ellet Cluster schools in future construction segments. The dedication ceremony took place on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 1:15 pm. Students began attending school iin the new building on January 9, 2008.
Crouse Community
Learning Center A new school will be built on the existing site or a new site.
There is no room to build the new school while the existing
school remains, so it will be demolished. Students will be
relocated to temporary facilities while the new school is built.
Forest Hill
Community Learning Center A new school will be constructed on the existing site. The
current school will continue to house the students until the new
school is constructed. The old building will then be demolished
so the remaining property can be developed into playground space
and parking.
Glover Community
Learning Center A new school will be constructed on the existing site. There
is no room to build a new school on the site while the existing
school stands, so it will be demolished. Glover students will
attend classes at 400 W. Market St. until the new school is
complete.
David Hill
Community Learning Center COMPLETE A new school was constructed on the existing site. David
Hill students attended classes at 400 W. Market St. until the
new school was complete. The dedication ceremony took place on Friday, December 14, 2007, at 1 p.m. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, August 29, 2007.
Jennings Community
Learning Center COMPLETE A new, three-story building was built on the existing
site. The old school building housed students while the new
school was constructed. The old Jennings will serve as swing
space. The dedication ceremony took place on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 1 p.m. Students began attending school in the new building on Monday, December 3, 2007.
Mason Community
Learning Center COMPLETE A new school was built at Mason Park in collaboration with
the community center. The old school building housed students
until the new school was built. The old Mason will serve as swing
space. The dedication ceremony took place on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 2 p.m. Students began attending school in the new building on Tuesday, January 22, 2008.
Judith A. Resnik Community
Learning Center (formerly Fairlawn Elementary School) COMPLETE A new school
was constructed on the existing site. The Resnik CLC held its ribbon-cutting ceremony and school tour on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at 65 Meadowcroft Drive. Students began attending school in the new building on Monday, December 18, 2006.
Ritzman Community Learning Center A new school will be constructed on the existing site. Students
will attend classes at 400 W. Market St. until the new school is
built.
Robinson Community
Learning Center A new school will be constructed on the same site. Students
will stay at Robinson until the new school is built. The old
building will then be demolished so the remaining property can
be developed into playground space and parking.
Sam Salem Community Learning Center The new school will sit on 5.701 acres
to the south of the existing school, which allows for the existing
school to remain open throughout the construction process. When the new building is finished, a
parking lot will be constructed where the old building was located.
Voris Community
Learning Center (formerly Voris Elementary School) COMPLETE A new school was constructed on the existing site.
Students stayed at Voris Elementary School until the new school was built. The
old Voris will serve as swing space for several Garfield Cluster
schools, after which it will be demolished; and playing fields
will be developed in its place. The Voris CLC held its dedication ceremony on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at 1885 Glenmount Ave. Students began attending school in the new building on Wednesday, January 10, 2007.
