Glover CLC's Open House
The Glover CLC held its open house on Thursday, November 2, 2007, at the Central Learning Center.
Master Facility Plan A new school was constructed on
the existing site. There was no room to build a new school on the
site while the existing school stood, so it was demolished.
Glover students attended classes at 400 W. Market St. (beginning January 8, 2007) until the
new school was complete.
Beautiful glass-block patterns create a welcoming environment in the new Glover CLC. A multi-use stage separates the cafeteria from the gymnasium. Entryways are monitored by a sophisticated security system. Hallways are colorful and filled with interesting architectural details. Overhead lighting accentuates the curved walls in the main hallway. Red brickwork adds a fresh look to the neighborhood surrounding Glover CLC. Windows allow natural light to filter throughout the building.
Architects All designs are the work of an
architectural firm from one of six firms, which comprise the Akron

architects on each site. The architectural firm designing the Glover
Community Learning Center was Hasenstab Architects. Gerald Taylor was
