It is the policy of Akron Public Schools to not act upon requests for substitutions for products other than the Basis of Design or Acceptable Components named in the Specifications during the bid period. Manufacturers desiring to have their products considered for inclusion in future projects can follow the procedure described below.
Requests For Inclusion Into Future Specifications
Manufacturers or vendors interested in requesting that their products be considered for inclusion into specifications for future projects may do so as outlined below. Such requests can be made at any time and need not coincide with any bid schedule.
Print a copy of the Vendor's Product Inclusion Request form, fill it out and submit it along with the following: the name and complete description of the proposed product to be included into the specifications, including drawings, performance and test data and other information necessary for a complete evaluation.
Submit the request form, along with sufficient documentation, either by hard copy or fax, to one of the following firms according to its specification division:
